The Zoning Hearing Board is convened on an as-needed basis, typically the third Monday of the month at 7:30 pm. Hearings are held before the Zoning Hearing Board on matters of requests for special exceptions and/or variances to the Zoning Ordinance. The Zoning Hearing Board will consider application #2019-6 on Monday, September 16, 2019, at 7:30 pm. The applicant, J. Daniel Kauffman of Cambridge Road, is seeking a variance from 27-1703.A.(6) of the Zoning Ordinance of 2018, as amended, in order to construct an addition to a Rural Occupation structure which exceeds the allowable impervious coverage in the A – Agricultural District. The Zoning Hearing Board will also consider application #2019-7 on Monday, September 16, 2019, at 8:00 pm. The applicants, John & April Trego of Morgan Spring Drive, are seeking variances from 27-1803.A.(3) and (4) of the Zoning Ordinance of 2018, as amended, in order to construct a detached garage within the side and rear yard setbacks in the RC-Resource Conservation district. Application 2019-5 of James B. Stoltzfus, a variance to 27-1903.A.(4) in order to reconstruct an agricultural building within the front yard setback in the BI – Business Industrial District, was reviewed by the Planning Commission on July 25, 2019 but TABLED by the Board of Supervisors at their meeting on August 14, 2019. The applicant has additional information to provide before the application may move forward.
The Zoning Hearing Board granted variance application #2019-4 on Monday, July 22, 2019. The applicant, David Fisher of Compass Road, sought a variance from 27-1705.F.(4) of the Zoning ordinance of 2018 in order to erect a greenhouse structure within the front yard setback at 991 Compass Road. The formal written decision is due within 45 days of the hearing date.
