Now is the Time to be Counted!

The United States Census Bureau mailings have been sent out.  95% of households will receive their invitation in the mail; almost 5% will be dropped off by a census taker, and less than 1% will be counted in person by a census taker.  Please remember to participate!  For a complete timeline of the Bureau’s mailings, please click here.

Within the mailing is a Census ID.  The online response system allows respondents to use their Census ID and, if necessary, make corrections to addresses prior to submission. By using the unique Census ID provided in the 2020 Census invitation, the Census Bureau internally matches each response back to the physical location address, not the “postal city” address.  Click here for complete information on how to respond online and by telephone.

Reminder postcards will be sent between March 26 & April 3.

A second reminder letter will arrive with a paper questionnaire between April 8 and April 16.

A final reminder postcard will be sent between April 20 and 27.

Everyone counts!  Responding to the 2020 Census is our civic duty and affects the allocation of funding for our community’s public resources, how we plan for the future, and our voice in government.  Click here to learn more.  For more information on the timeline of mailings, click here.  Questions?  Contact the Census Bureau Public Information Office at 301-763-3030.
